Jeremy Scott and Adidas. It’s a pairing that goes together like Champagne and fashion week. Which is to say, fabulously. One is an empire that likes to dabble with the cutting edge, the other is the cutting edge that likes to dabble with empires—this is Scott’s fourth collaboration to date. “I know, I’m going to be known as the collaboration king!” the designer joked at his studio yesterday, where he showed his new 20-plus piece collection for Adidas Originals alongside his own catwalk collection. “I feel spoiled! The label is iconic. Everyone should be jealous of me!” He then riffed on his design philosophy. “I am not an elitist. I want everyone to look cooler. You can buy a piece from my Adidas collection retail for the same price as one from my own collection, wholesale. So, I think, why not? If there are loads of angel wings flapping around town, I would love it!” he said, showing off his sneakers, a pair of gold Adidas sneakers with inflatable angel wings. What else can we expect to see around town? Black sequin tracksuit pants and matching zip-up jackets, leopard-print tees, and fringed tops and dresses. “Apart from the bustier, the collection is pretty much unisex,” Scott added. “If you can put it on your body, you can have it.”
