paris fashion week: snap happy

-------

This Sunday, Bill Cunningham, The New York Times‘ ubiquitous fashion man on the street, won’t be keeping to his usual schedule. Instead, the generally publicity-phobic milliner-turned-photographer, who once admitted to “a roaring passion…unleashed to document everything I had known, seen and dreamed of in fashion,” will put aside his camera for a few hours in order to pick up his Officer of Arts and Letters award in Paris. The French, it seems, know a good thing when they see it.
