Just when we thought the elaborate invitation was a thing of the past (a victim of either the green movement or the imploding economy, take your pick), we got this shoebox-sized faux planetarium from DDCLAB. It’s for the opening of its new Mercer Street store, and it comes complete with mini replicas of the branded New Balance sneakers that will be sold there. It’s cool, yes, but it’s also an awful lot of plastic.
