Alexander McQueen’s Other Miss Moss

November 6, 2008  2:26 pm

It seems a certain Miss Moss is poised to have a fashion moment—only this time her name’s not Kate. When Alexander McQueen announced that he would be creating a McQ collection for Target, the first of its Designer Collaborations line to launch in March, he attributed his influence for the pieces to Liela Moss. Now, McQueen is not usually one for putting his finger on the pulse. After all, we look to him for his creations so above and beyond that they transcend trends. But in Moss he seems to have found a muse that we might all be tempted to get behind. The lead singer of the British noise band The Duke Spirit, which is touring the U.S. for its sophomore effort, Neptune, has a look that’s a cross between Debbie Harry and Brigitte Bardot and a love for designers that ranges from Rag & Bone to Givenchy, Junya Watanabe, and McQueen himself. She told Refinery 29 that if she could trade closets with anyone, living or dead, she would choose the one belonging to Brian Jones. But from the sounds of it, her own closet is suiting her just fine.
