It’s (Probably) Meisel!

November 13, 2008  3:37 pm

This morning, WWD picked up our scoop that Louis Vuitton looks set to unveil Madonna as the face of its Spring 2009 campaign. However, as the paper further reports, it seems that LV has a case of the seven-year itch with photographic wunderkinder Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. According to WWD’s sources, shooting the house’s campaign for the first time ever is none other than Steven Meisel. The photographer and the Material Divorcée have collaborated before, of course—most recently on a cover shoot for Vanity Fair’s May issue, and most infamously on the Sex book that scandalized an entire nation in 1992. Louis Vuitton, meanwhile, has declined to confirm details.
