november to remember

November 4, 2008  10:18 am

The first thing we thought of when we saw Kasia Struss slinking around the runway in a gauzy, white short-in-front-long-in-back dress at Nina Ricci last month was the video for Guns N’ Rose’s epic “November Rain.” Remember it? Stephanie Seymour, Axl Rose’s then real-life girlfriend, exchanged vows in a white gown not unlike some of the grander creations in the Ricci show. Is that where Olivier Theyskens got his idea? We can’t be certain, but he would’ve been a very impressionable 15 years old when the video debuted in 1992. And with a release date of November 23, Rose’s oft-delayed, nearly mythical album Chinese Democracy has been much in the news these last few months. Either way, happy November!

  1. Oh My God, when I was 12 I just love this song and now when I see this fashion show, it all comes clear.
