Claudia Schiffer’s Manifesto Destiny

As you’ve no doubt heard, Claudia Schiffer is the new face of YSL. Schiffer traveled West to be shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in the Hollywood Hills, where the house’s creative team made genius use of the sign’s Y, then echoed in the buttery caramel Easy bag dangling off her arm. We also particularly love this shot, a Style.com exclusive, for its witty synthesis of icons—the Hollywood sign, the house of Yves Saint Laurent, and yes, our favorite German über-model. This image is one of a few that may grace the cover of the house’s fourth Manifesto leaflet advert, to be passed out on Valentine’s Day.
