Designer update

Le Chic Dominique

December 2, 2008  4:09 pm

If you read Vogue or shopped at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, or Saks Fifth Avenue in the eighties, the name Dominique Aurientis will definitely ring a bell. If you didn’t, it’s a moniker worth getting to know, because the designer and her bold and beautiful costume jewelry are back. The Paris-based Aurientis first learned her craft at Christian Dior’s couture atelier and then worked for Givenchy and Isabel Canovas before going on her own with a collection of witty, sculptural gold pieces set with vivid colored stones. Her current work, all plated in gold or rose gold, ranges from $80 to $450. Though she isn’t yet selling in the U.S., you can get more information by e-mailing her at d.aurientis@live.com.
