Not everyone is scaling back in the current economy. Renzo Rosso just opened a massive three-floor “Diesel Planet Store” in the heart of Milan’s Golden Triangle, and he threw a raucous dance party there on the last night of a generally subdued four days of Fall 2009 menswear shows. As dry ice pumped through the shop and Chloë Sevigny sneaked a cigarette in a makeshift outdoor smoking section, Rosso held court quietly in the basement, his unruly curls hidden beneath a bucket hat. “We’re opening a store in New York in February,” he said. “It’ll be even bigger than this.”
