Introducing Laura Izibor

January 29, 2009  5:13 pm

Last week, Tory Burch opened her Upper East Side apartment for an intimate 30th anniversary party for Style.com’s executive fashion director, Candy Pratts Price, and her husband, Chuck. This, of course, is the designer who turned her fledgling business into a nationwide phenomenon in a matter of a few years. She never does anything small. The Vogue magazine cake, which was almost as big as the table it was perched on, is a case in point. Laura Izibor, the up-and-coming R&B singer, is another. Burch enlisted the Irish native to serenade the happy couple, and we can guarantee that this blog post won’t be the last you see or hear of the 20-year-old beauty. Her new album on Atlantic Records, Let the Truth Be Told, is scheduled for an early 2009 release, and she just landed a gig as the opening act for John Legend’s European tour. And with the crowd assembled at Burch’s place—Michael Kors, Narciso Rodriguez, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour, for starters—it’s only a matter of time before Izibor lands in a fashion magazine.
