Recessionista: Waris Advocates Celluloid Escape

What: The double- (and occasionally triple) features at independent downtown theater Film Forum.

Why: “For economically restrained times, there’s no better escape than cinema,” says jewelry designer and actor Waris Ahluwalia. “Film Forum sometimes presents double features, meaning one admission entitles you to see two films. Go ahead. Take a day off. Tell your boss I said it was OK.”
