Buffalo Exchange

-------

The Keystone State is a less than two hours by car from Manhattan, but I had to come all the way to Milan to find out what a Pennsylvania Tuxedo is. Woolrich—America’s oldest clothing company and the brand responsible for the first buffalo plaid—showcased its debut high-end outerwear and sportswear here yesterday. You won’t find the new raccoon fur trimmed parkas and techno wool puffers in its catalog though. Retailers just started seeing the collection, but the menswear is sold at Barneys. Oh, and about that Pennsylvania Tuxedo, it’s what the locals called the head-to-toe red-and-black plaid Woolrich get-up that hunters used to wear. It beats safety orange in our book, but we suggest wearing it in somewhat smaller doses, like this little cape.
