Chicks Dig Topman: News From The Bungalow Bash

February 16, 2009  11:07 am

Fresh on the heels of the announcement of Topshop’s much anticipated opening date for its first New York outpost (check Style File later for news from the official press conference), Sir Philip Green held court last night at Amy Sacco’s party for Topman at Bungalow 8. Donna Karan, Mary Alice Stephenson, and Ann Dexter-Jones were among the brand fans who stopped by Green’s corner banquette to pay respects and help get the buzz going for Topshop U.S.A. (although we doubt he needs much help in that department). Meanwhile, younger fans swayed to dance music and took a moment to discuss love lost and found. “I had a favorite jacket—a leather biker jacket—from Topshop that someone stole in Southside,” Julia Restoin-Roitfeld sighed, referring to the Nolita club. “I could never find it again.” Alexandra Richards had a similar tale, with a happier ending. “I bought a leather jacket from Topshop Men in England two years ago. It’s like the ex-boyfriend’s clothes that you didn’t have to steal,” she explained. But did it have that evocative ex-boyfriend smell? She shook her head. “No, no. It’s all mine!”
