Dior-Drama

Don’t write off ostentation just yet. Dior and Bergdorf Goodman pulled out all the stops at a posh lunch today for their devoted clientele. “Things are different,” admitted Delphine Arnault Gancia, who flew in from Paris to host the lunch at BG. “But Americans are resourceful, they look for solutions.” After an informal modeling of the Spring 2009 collection, dessert was served in the boutique on Two, where things got personal: A master craftsman was on hand to stamp initials into customers’ own Lady Dior bags (he also built a bag on site). Blair Waldorf (a.k.a. Leighton Meister) wasn’t on hand, though we were told that since Blair started carrying a Lady Dior on Gossip Girl young U.E.S. teenagers have been flooding the boutique to nab them. The grown-up GG counterparts—Fabiola Beracasa, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Tinsley Mortimer (sporting new bangs), and Kelly Killoren Bensimon (who will make her debut on Real Housewives of New York next week)—were “spotted” at BG. Good afternoon, Upper East Siders.
