Fashion show attendees often worry that models will fall because of their precariously high heels; at Diego Binetti’s presentation, the fear was that they’d fall off of a dial and lose track of time. Huh? The designer engaged the Cedar Lake Dance Company to make a human mechanical clock Sunday night to bring attention to the current state of the world. (Duh.) To wit, dancers in black bodysuits wheeled round platforms to the center of the space, atop of which perched groups of models, and circled the platforms like clock hands. “The clock is ticking,” Binetti said ominously. “Not just in fashion, but in all the creative arts.” Thankfully, the clothes had less of a Doomsday feel.
