“Just watch me.” That was Oscar de la Renta’s directive to his son Moises, who is debuting his own line, MDLR, this season. The younger de la Renta holds a degree in communications and honed his fashion talent with extensive internships at Phat Farm and, of course, with his father. “Simple, elegant, practical” is how the designer describes his sophisticated and well-priced collection of clothing and accessories, many of which will retail for under $1,000. Yes, there’s a perfect L.B.D., but there’s also a Swiss dot hoodie with a print lining, stretch leather pants, and a biker jacket with removable sleeves. DJ and downtown darling Lissy Trullie, who met Moises while hanging out at Beatrice, posed for the lookbook. Our prediction? MDLR will be a chart topper.
