Blasblog From Paris: Every Sandwich Is A Good One

March 12, 2009  8:36 pm

When Club Sandwich, the Paris-based fashion party, announced that it was changing its successful single-night schedule to a full-on week, there was worry that some of the party’s trademark exuberance would diminish. (Because, honestly, who has the time to put that much effort into their look every single night of the week?) So last night—the sixth thumping one in a row—I decided to check out the revelers’ endurance. And wouldn’t you know it? Just as glam as it’s been all week. Riccardo Tisci was holding court at one table while artist Francesco Vezzoli commandeered another. As I left, hairstylist-to-the-stars Ken Paves was just rolling in. “We were not worried about it being fun every single night,” organizer Marc Zaffuto told me. “There are enough people that want to have fun and get dressed up in Paris that we were sure it would make it.” And he hinted that tonight—the seventh and final party—would blow all previous evenings’ escapades out of the water. “You’ll have to come and see for yourself,” he said when we asked him to divulge. “But it will be out of this world.”
