Feathers And Freebies At Etro

Recycling was the word that bounced out from Etro’s preshow blurb Saturday, so we went backstage to find out more. “I looked through the Etro archives and collected all the leftover scraps,” Veronica Etro
explained. “And I dreamed up new ways of stitching them together. I was even able to create imitation feathers, which is a very good idea—in Italy wearing the real thing brings bad luck!” Also being
recycled were the bronze Etro cushions adorning the venue’s chairs. At the show’s end people snatched them up by the armload.
