Kicking It From Florence To Tokyo

March 6, 2009  2:19 pm

More images from Yohji Yamamoto’s footwear collaboration with Salvatore Ferragamo landed in our inbox this morning, and while we’re looking forward to seeing how they hold up on the runway tonight—not to mention what Yohji will be showing on top of them—we thought they deserved a little solo time in the spotlight. A far cry from the heel-less, but no less gravity-defying, lace-up sparkle boots at Nina Ricci yesterday, Yamamoto and Ferragamo’s kicks are as easy as can be. There’s a molded, second-skin quality to the leather, which rather begs to be pulled on. Ranging from $470 to $1,050, the shoes are, as Yamamoto intended them to be, also a bit “mannish.” Will you slip these supple suckers on when they’re out in July? Or will you opt for something a bit sexier?
