What: Dual-Purpose Wallet/Clutch With a Touch of Flash
Why: Hands down, the best New York fashion week invitation I received was to the Hayden-Harnett presentation at the Chelsea Hotel. Inside the manila envelope was a smaller one in black leather, embellished with geometric brass hardware. I have gone on to use this thing ad nauseam—it’s been my daytime fashion-week wallet and my nighttime going-out clutch, and everytime I pull it out, girls ask me where they can get one for themselves. Well, tough luck, kiddos. The envelope clutch was a fashion week one-off—but there are similar styles coming for Fall ‘09, as part of Hayden-Harnett’s new Collector’s Edition range. Comprised of bags, belts, cuffs, and small leather goods embellished with the same sort of geometric hardware found on my fashion week envelope bag, the Collector’s Edition range will be available at the first Hayden-Harnett boutique, which soft-opens in Nolita this weekend.
