Paris 1962 In New York 2009

March 26, 2009  4:26 pm

At yet another party celebrating his beautiful tome Paris 1962: Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior, The Early Collections, photographer Jerry Schatzberg commented on the changing faces of fashion: “It was different. [Models] were women; now they’re young girls trying to be women,” he said, as his elegant black-and-white images flashed against the walls above racks of select fashion finds at Rare Vintage. Presiding over the “salon” was boutique owner Juliana Cairone and the evening’s hostess, reality television starlet Olivia Palermo. The latter was in good spirits, having just returned from Florida, where she scored some vintage man-of-the-moment Christian Lacroix at a charity event. Some girls have all the luck.
