Putting The Jezebel In Jade Jagger

As fashion followers well know, Jade Jagger does high jewelry. Her gold “skull rosary” necklaces, produced under her own name, go for £1,000 a pop; the pieces in her former collaboration with Garrard featured multi-zero price tags. What the stylish set is about to discover is that Jagger is putting her full name behind a more accessible label ranging from baubles to T-shirts. As the debut collection, titled “Queen of Teens”—celebrated in Paris last night at the VIP Room—attests, Jagger’s two teenage daughters, Assisi and Amber, are fully involved (even if school kept them in London this week). So is it about adding clothes to a jewelry concept, or jumping into younger fashions and adding a lashing of gems? Neither, said Jagger, who arrived at her party decked in her own designs, a shapely black knit minidress with a colorful splay of pills bearing smileys, hearts, and diamonds teamed with real sparklers and studded leather bracelets. “I like being independent and different. It’s about a lifestyle brand that combines fashion, art, music, and family togetherness”—not to mention a certain amount of life on the road, with clubbing events from Ibiza and Bombay to Moscow by way of London, Amsterdam, and, last night, Paris’ newly reopened VIP lounge. Jagger’s boyfriend, Dan Williams, led a lineup of DJ acts including the Misshapes, who were expected to spin until 5 a.m. Probably best, then, that Assisi and Amber stayed home.
