We might be spending selectively, but we haven’t given up our shopping habit. In fact, we experienced that familiar euphoric feeling when we heard about Matches’ Editions project. The London-based boutique chain (think Colette meets Barneys, with a more neighborhood-y feel) has gotten designers like Alexander McQueen (left), Christian Louboutin, Matthew Williamson, and Stella McCartney on board to design exclusive pieces in limited runs no greater than 100—Balenciaga is contributing a bag of which only five will exist—that will be numbered and sold with a certificate. Prices range from about $200 to $12,000.
