Y-3’s Concept Crowd

March 11, 2009  4:59 pm

The last time we saw Jeremy Scott he was channeling Tony the Tiger—or rather, wearing one of Tony’s more ferocious-looking cousins—in a tracksuit, so we weren’t that surprised to catch him in spots at last night’s Y-3 retail space at the Adidas Brand Center. Scott, whose not-yet-for-sale gold-winged kicks for Adidas are already cult faves, was happy to be nearing the end of a chockablock week. “I’m relieved it’s over,” he said, echoing the sentiments of more than one weary editor. While Scott’s plans to take his nephew to Euro Disney still stand, the three-year-old was nowhere to be seen. Instead, models fresh from the McQueen runway noshed on pain perdu and swigged Champagne in the jam-packed space. Considering that the Champs-Élysées outpost clocks in at 3,600 square meters—it’s Adidas’ largest European concept store—we’re talking big turnout.
