Yea, Nay, or Eh: Amber Rose In Alexander Wang

-------

Truer words were scarcely spoken when Kanye West proclaimed at last night’s Roberto Cavalli party: “It’s not fashion week without me.” Of late he’s been joined by a partner-in-ubiquity: his newish lady love, Amber Rose. The cropped-super-short platinum blonde is a puzzle to some—partly because she doesn’t quite share the unerring panache that has made the Louis Vuitton don an industry obsession. While statement-making, her ensembles—e.g., the strange pairing of Current/Elliott denim track shorts with a sports bra and wire-rimmed glasses she was snapped in recently—don’t quite spark sartorial shivers. But her front-row look at Hussein Chalayan yesterday is another story. The sheer, body-con Alexander Wang spring dress hits just the right notes of ultra-sexy-but-stylish, while those fabulously fantastical Louis Vuitton sandals (and the oversize clutch) spike the high-fashion quotient to more than satisfactory levels. We’re not totally shivering yet, but there’s definitely a chill in the air. We’ll call this a smart move in the right direction for the current First Lady of the Celeb Section. What do you think, Style Filers? Hot or cold?

For me it’s cold because I hardly know her, and despite I’m of Italian origin I don’t like everything Mr. Cavalli and his team does. The same is for the socalled celebs. I’m really sorry Meenal but I prefer to meet real people, like you and I are. Not muzes of designers, but people who knows the industry and don’t need an stylist to look great (which isn’t always the true) The streetstyle of some woman is always better then the style of a stylist, it means also that the celeb or whoever isn’t that stylish or trendy as the pretend. Why I am so rude or harsh, no I’m not it hurts me only when a woman can’t choose her own clothes/dressess or pants or whatever. I love you Meenal, but I better shot my mouth, arriverderci

what a bore….why dont these people/celebs get there own identity….and stop coping from magazine to reality…..this is truly not what I call personal style….

Sorry for my comment in which I said that they where removed/deleted. It’s only a matter of that they are delayed. They didn’t appear on the Style File blog immediatly, so my mistake. I had to wait a little longer before I made my last comment, scusa.

I think it’s too much. It’s piling on too many trendy, statement pieces. I wish she’d save one of those magnificent items for another night anad trade it for something subdued so there’d be a focus.
