Yea, Nay, Or Eh: Reese Witherspoon In Rodarte

March 23, 2009  12:07 pm

Spotted: Reese Witherspoon in Rodarte at the L.A. premiere of Monsters vs. Aliens. We give the girl points for scoring a Fall look just weeks after it walked down the runway (on Kinga Rajzak), but the actress lost us with the sexy hair and peep-toe shoes (the boots balanced the super-short length at the show). Maybe the accessory Witherspoon needed wasn’t a pair of sunglasses but a watch: This dramatic evening look wasn’t really meant for a sunny Cali day. What do you think: Is Reese’s look a monster mash or frightfully good?

  1. the dress looked great on her, but i didn’t love the shoes.

  2. I think she looks sweet and spunky. Really, the woman has class to spare, and shows how well she can take a specifically-styled runway look and really make it her own. She’s a lovely, sunny California blonde, and I think its great that she looks it! That, and she’s got legs to spare, so who needs the boots!?

  3. i have to agree with the original post…the hair and shoes don’t match the drama of the dress, especially for daytime. now, throw on a pair of leather leggings, some of the fierce rodate/christian louboutin heels from last season and a high pony and voila. i’d like to see her edge it out a little, wouldn’t you?

  4. How is this an evening look? It’s definitely a day dress in my opinion. And Reese looks great. She has the legs for it.

  5. I completely agree with kerileanne- overall not a good choice for the tone of the event. She doesn’t do the dress justice with the styling of her hair or accessories. She is a gorgeous woman without a doubt- but this is a miss.

  6. Miss Witherspoon turned something dramatic, balanced and edgy into something you’d buy at Forever 21.

  7. I love reese’ style, but this time it was a miss, the dress looks inappropriate and there is too much leg showing.. there was no way this was going to look great at a day time premier.. but congrats to kate and laura for all the attention Rodarte is getting

  8. true to that… uncalled for. This is a clear example on how the accessories -including hair & makeup- can break an outfit… in this case, take away the shine that the dress actually has, because it is truly a piece of art

  9. this dress looks terribile on her!
as said maybe if worn in the evening she’ed have pulled it off, really not meant for the daytime!
the shoes and glasses??? what was she thinking, i like crossing styles but thats just done badly!
