Bring On The Rain

April 6, 2009  12:32 pm

As if it isn’t difficult enough to make a flawless transition from winter to spring (the wind, the humidity, the question of what dernier tights to don), this rain really throws a wrench in our program. Happily, we’ve come across a stylish alternative to the all-too-whimsical wellingtons that seem to go hand in hand (foot in foot?) with April showers. These limited-edition, croc-embossed rubber boots are the result of a collaboration between Hunter and Jimmy Choo. And if they conjure thoughts of Kate Moss at Glastonbury, you’re on the right track. “I was inspired by images from the festivals of the hip Brit girls in their wellies,” explains Jimmy Choo president and founder Tamara Mellon. We say, why save them for a rainy day? The HUNTER boot by Hunter and Jimmy Choo, black crocodile-embossed rubber, $395, at Jimmy Choo boutiques, 1-866-JCHOO-US, www.jimmychoo.com.

  1. Wow! I’m totally converted! I’ve managed to steer clear of wellies but these gems are a must have. Bring on the rain! (not!)
