Designer update

From The White House To The Doll House

April 29, 2009  4:48 pm

First Lady favorite Jason Wu is designing a limited-edition high fashion doll for Vienna’s Life Ball, which is scheduled for May 16 this year. The 12-inch-tall figurine is dressed in a Sabrina-esque black and white gown from Wu’s Fall 2008 show, scaled to size, of course, and accessorized with a red ribbon. The doll might be new, but Wu’s commitment to HIV/AIDS charities is not. The profits from the sale of the Life Ball doll, like those that were earned from the sale of his Amanda Lepore doll, which debuted in 2006, before Wu was a household name, will all go to charities fighting the disease. Two hundred and fifty dolls will be produced and sold by lottery for $270. More information at www.integritytoys.com/lifeball.php.
