A solid crowd of models (Maryna, Nimue, Madisyn, Behati, Zuzana) and some rather elated students gathered at the Calvin Klein store on Madison Avenue last night. The Parsons Fashion Benefit 2009 Pre-Party, as the event was rather laboriously called, was a warm-up of sorts for the real thing, which is scheduled for April 29 at Cipriani Wall Street and will honor the label’s president and CEO, Tom Murry, and its creative director, Francisco Costa. The latter had a few choice words for the students, whose graduation collections were on display: “Never lose your excitement. Never, ever put it to rest.” Speaking of excitement, Leighton Meester, who was also in attendance, couldn’t disguise hers for the Spring runway dress she was wearing. “I feel like the dress really speaks for itself. It’s really flawless, on the hanger, on the body. I feel like a million bucks.” Many of the other guests pawed through the racks; a percentage of the evening’s proceeds went toward Parsons.
