Yea, Nay, Or Eh: Shoe In?

April 2, 2009  5:19 pm

GP generated as much press for her shoes on her promo tour for Iron Man last year as she did for the movie, but it seems the actress’ penchant for ultra-high, fetishy footwear—paired with ultra-short dresses—wasn’t a phase: She showed up to the Los Angeles premiere of Valentino: The Last Emperor last night in a simple gray dress that called no attention away from her ribbon-lashed Christian Louboutin booties. What do you think of Gwyneth’s “uniform”? Should she stick to the script or learn some new lines?

  1. If I had Gwynnies pins I would wear ultra-short dresses wherever I went! The feisty footwear has been a cool exclamation point but I hope she’s madly practicing her next line, the expiry date is upon her. How hot would she look in a slinky fuschia Vivienne Westwood New Drape dress and strappy leopard print sandals?

  2. Is she wearing a Kabbalah bracelet? If you’ve got the legs, why not show them off?

  3. A question: have you an idea where can find a place where to be dressed-up, eventually also with a photographer who could take some pictures?.. you know, as in a real fashion photo set.. just for fun with my friends.. tks in advance for you answers!! jasmine

  4. no problem with the look…but she might want to toss in a little variety every once in a while just to make it intesting. big problem with the colors though…the gray dress and the natural tone heels and the blonde hair all just kind of wash out and go blah. even an awesome contrasting belt could have helped make it all pop.

  5. GP looks fantastic! She has found what works for her. She proves to women that when you find a uniform that speaks of your personality and works with your frame, you can do no sartorial wrong. Her current sporting of high shoes and ultra short dresses is a great way for her to accentuate those stunning Gams.

  6. I think that if you have great legs (like GP does), then go for it!

  8. Hi Laird, GP is looking great in this dress and the socalled ‘fetishy’ shoes. Gray colors (actually the darker colors) are ‘in’ these days so actually she’s very fashionable en stylish. About the ultra short dresses, in my opinion she wears the right lenght considering her age and above all her legs. Nothing wrong with her dresses, but I agree with you that she has to learn some new lines. But then again she will shock people, who are fond of her because she changed her style, or will we blame her stylist? Nice weekend love, arriverderci
