Yea, Nay, Or Eh: What Would Little Edie Say?
April 13, 2009 4:28 pm
Drew Barrymore donned a zebralike Narciso Rodriguez shift for a taping of Live With Regis and Kelly this morning in NYC. She looks positively radiant in the previews for HBO’s Grey Gardens (the part before she sets up house at the East Hamptons cottage), and we think she looks pretty fab here, too. But what would little Edie say? And what about you? Are horizontal-ish stripes too risky for non-model types, or does Barrymore pull them off with her oh-so-Drew charm?

YAY!!!! drew looks divine!
By ChiChiandtheGreek on 04/13/09 at 5:39 pmthe dress is fabulous and she looks fantastic in it… i’m just tired of red and white paired with….. shiny red shoes.
By marika7 on 04/13/09 at 8:28 pm**** white and black paired with red. excuse.
By marika7 on 04/13/09 at 8:29 pmThis look is a yea! I think this looks very nice on her.
@Marika7, I agree with you, but for some reason this combo always feels new and fresh at the same time.

By Emma59 on 04/13/09 at 9:00 pmlike many people before said… Dress is beautiful, but black white and red? yawn…
By tr_ro on 04/13/09 at 9:10 pmRed shoes on black & white are one hell of a fashion challenge, aren’t they… I can almost see that headline with this picture winning the cover slot.
By NotMod on 04/13/09 at 9:34 pmI think the stripes look amazing! She pulls it off in such a demure way, its hard to see anything wrong
By nanic on 04/13/09 at 11:13 pmShe looks fab. There is no ‘eh?’ because this print really isn’t zebra in the first place. It’s very classic actually. I love Drew’s hair and red, red lips- so old Hollywood.
By lyralie on 04/13/09 at 11:23 pmshe looks great, the strap could have been slimmer, though…
By marvoi on 04/14/09 at 12:52 amshe looks great!! The stripes are not an issue because of their angle.
By cutter on 04/14/09 at 7:53 amI’ll have to be the lone “nay” here. I’m just not in love with that dress. I love Drew, she’s gorgeous now and she one of those rare stars that grows more attractive with age, I just don’t love her in that dress. She can do better.
By Ian_Larraga on 04/14/09 at 10:57 ami’m not really a fan. it’s not very flattering, especially with her hair the way is done up.

I’ve rarely seen her looking better. The dress is fresh and modern. But yes, she could have been a little more inventive with the shoes.
By luomo on 04/14/09 at 3:13 pmi’m feeling 50/50 on this one…i think she looks lovely but i’d like to see her go with a slightly younger look. like maybe toss on a dark brown biker jacket with the sleeves pushed up and raise the hemline just a bit, just an inch or so. and maybe some hot ankle boots instead of the red heels. but that’s just nitpicking, isn’t it?
By kerileanne on 04/14/09 at 4:26 pmDrew looks fantastic. The color combo isn’t very original but her hair and makeup make up for everything else!
By nicolechic on 04/14/09 at 7:24 pmI wouldn’t really call them horizontal stripes; aside, they are completely fabulous on her! This outfit is a 10! Perfectly styled!
By julian_garcia on 04/15/09 at 11:04 pmi think it works.
By graceyfaceyyy on 04/16/09 at 6:33 amthe red peep toe shoes completes the whole outfit
I find most actresses to be a bore, but I will admit, Ms. Barrymore, you hit this one out of the park. Clean, sharp, crisp. Very nice. Now go back to tinseltown and show ‘em how it’s done.
