Blog Watch: The Unknown Hipster

May 27, 2009  5:03 pm

An e-mail message announcing the Unknown Hipster made it through my spam filter this morning. The new blog—with drawn portraits of fashion figures like Karl Lagerfeld, Thom Browne, and Garance Doré—satirizes the self-important fashion world in the teasingly tart manner characteristic of Jean-Philippe Delhomme. The French artist and author, who recently published his first illustrated book in English, The Cultivated Life (and whom stateside readers might remember from the 1990’s Barneys ads), is taking his trenchant wit into a new dimension and I, for one, am happy to follow him there.
