Carla On Stage, Ilincic On The High Street, And More…

The First Lady of France is coming to Madison Square Garden next month to perform for Nelson Mandela’s 91st birthday celebration. Some guys have all the luck. [Daily Mail]

London-based designer Roksanda Ilincic likes to send big shoulders and swaths of satin down the runway. Expect a little less of both—but lots of drama—from her seven-dress capsule collection for high street chain Whistles this September. Prices top out at £300. [Vogue U.K.]

John Malkovich is designing again. This time the line is called Technobohemian, which is, hands down, the best collection name ever. [WWD]

My dear Alison, isn’t it a little bit of a hype that we see or read so much about Carla Bruni?? I’m really sorry but she is only wellknown because of her affairs with welknown celebs, like Mick Jagger etc. As an model she can’t even stand in the shadow of Carmen Kass, Linda E. or Christy Turlington. So why?? so much attention to this woman. I really don’t understand it. She’s not and fashion icon, there are a lot of people which think she is, but no way. Here fame is brought by the beds of famous man. Im don’t care about that, but to call her a model or even top(super)model is a bridge to far for me. She is nothing more then a spoiled child of a wealthy family. Arriverderci from another spoiled child, hahaha. Ciao

Well I kind of agree with the previous comment but needless to say she is the first lady of France and kind of scandalous new wife of the president thats why all her appearances are that big of a deal! And yes for many people she is a fashion icon because of all the stylists she can newer go wrong and lets admit that she is beautiful woman in the high circles. I bet that like in 10 years we will see her biography book on the book shelf under “best seller” sigh!
