The stereotype: The athleticism of the fashion person goes not much further than the lifting of a Nina Ricci Fall 2009 platform or the mad dash of a Party Pentathlon to make good on five RSVPs in a single night. (Ed. note: Neither are mean feats.) In reality, however, we have some true sportswomen and men in our midst, from a vast slew of surfers (Julie Gilhart, Patrick Robinson, Narciso Rodriguez, Erin Wasson) to tennis players (L’Wren Scott, Tory Burch) to divers (Riccardo Tisci, Peter Dundas)—and so much more.
