Yea, Nay, Or Eh: Vive Le Couture?
June 23, 2009 5:10 pm
The haute couture shows kick off two Mondays from now in Paris, and with them will come the inevitable “Is couture dead?” headlines. But you won’t hear us sounding its death knell, not with a knockout like Australian newcomer Isabel Lucas rocking this vintage Chanel Haute Couture chiffon embroidered dress (paired with Dior Fine Jewelry, no less) at the premiere of The Transformers in L.A. last night. By trupspank on 06/24/09 at 7:33 amShe absolutely rocks this vintage Chanel, it doesnt over power her but screams beauty… she looks gorgeous. There will always be a need for Couture. and me personally am waiting in anticipation for the new Collections
By jkelly8 on 06/24/09 at 9:39 amI think she looks absolutely stunning. A definite knock-out. This look just proves that by no means couture is dead.
By forthebirds on 06/24/09 at 10:25 amIt’s like art, it will always be here. There will always be people who can/can’t afford it. I love it and hope to get to contribute at least one piece to it before joining the big after life party!
