A weekly update on modeling’s freshest new faces, from photographer, man-about-town, and Twitpic’er JD Ferguson. This week: 5′ 10½” Martha Hunt. She calls North Carolina, not Russia, home, but this 20-year-old could pass for Sasha Pivovarova’s little sister—maybe that’s why she’s generating major interest from big-time photographers.
How did you get into modeling?
A photographer saw me in North Carolina and introduced me to agencies.
Favorite piece of clothing?
My Margiela bomber jacket.
What’s in your bag right now?
BlackBerry, receipts, chewing gum, lip balm, Ray-Bans, more receipts, MetroCard, credit cards, comp cards.
Bike, subway, taxi, or foot?
Bike! However, I bought one recently and it was stolen within 24 hours. I don’t know if that was a sign or not.
Favorite music?
Radiohead, Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nirvana, Interpol, MGMT, Incubus, the Smiths, Daft Punk, Led Zeppelin. I’m into a vast range.
Favorite place?
A warm beach. I’m not too keen on cold climates and city life but for now I can sacrifice.
If you were trapped on a desert island, who would you want to be with?
President Barack Obama, because I doubt we would be stranded for long.
Most shocking thing about modeling so far?
Ironically enough, it’s not that glamorous.
So what do you want to be when you grow up?
The same me, but wiser. I’m still trying to figure out the rest.
