Wearing Sasha Fierce, Shooting Madonna, And More…

July 1, 2009  12:13 pm

Beyoncé and her mom are launching a junior apparel label inspired by the singer’s alter ego, Sasha Fierce. The line will hit stores just in time for back-to-school shopping. Principals, you’ve been warned. [WWD]

Madonna ditches the hard-body look in her new ads for Vuitton and gets the solarization treatment. For photography neophytes, this is like getting a spray tan from Man Ray. Click to see all the images. [WWD]

Jude Law is bringing his Hamlet to Broadway. Unfortunately, that’s not some kind of naughty British slang. [NYT]

Betsey Johnson wants to retire this fall and be “like Ralph Lauren,” which is to say, a “fairy godmother.” [The Cut]

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences just asked Hollywood cool kids (Anne Hathaway and James Franco among them) to join their Oscar voting club. We’re looking forward to the effects of the Seth Rogan/Paul Rudd/Michael Cera voting bloc. [Hollywood Reporter]

Kanye’s shoes for Louis Vuitton are running late. Despite their tardiness, the kicks will still retail for $700 and up. [The Cut]

  2. Madonnas add its kind of dissapointing! What happened with the lights and everything? Its really hard to appreciate the clothes… I guess, they werent going for that when making it… but I dont know, I think it was a really great collection and the add doesnt sell the collection… I know its Madonna, and she is the best, but I think they could have done much better

  3. Who’s the next celebrety who come out with his/hers own line. Has this something to do with fashion? they can’t even nail a button on a shirt and are now famous for their designs? It’s about time that the average people knows who designed the dressess or whatever. This are underrated designers, which get paid a less more money then someone in a normal job. Beyonce and all the other beauties looks marvelous but are not the intellectual owner of their own designs. Which is very often copied from the REAL designers, like Lauren, Jacobs, Versace etc This launching of yet another label is destroying the REAL fashion industry. It hurts me bad that these days we have to coop with this fake designers, which only are famous in the gossip mags and further have nothing to tell to the world. Yes their own world which is a rotten one. Arriverderci
