JD’s Picks: Caroline West

A weekly update on modeling’s freshest new faces, from photographer, man-about-town, and Twitpic’er JD Ferguson. This week: 5′ 11′ Caroline West. The 17-year-old basketball-playing Virginia native was in New York City on spring break when she attended an open call at Elite and was signed on the spot.


How did you get into modeling?

Through my neighbor. She wanted to become a makeup artist and she needed someone to make her book with. When she asked me, I wasn’t really sure about it, but I was going to give it a chance. I loved it.

Is this your first time in New York?

No, but it’s my first time walking around alone and figuring the subway out.

Favorite food?

Pizza with artichokes on it.

Favorite place?

Lake of the Ozarks, riding the waves on a Jet Ski.

Favorite piece of clothing?

I’m a jeans girl.

Favorite designer?

J Brand jeans.

What’s been your worst modeling moment so far?

A 15-hour shoot with no bathroom.

What’s been your best modeling moment?

Feeling famous shooting in Times Square.

So what do you want to be when you grow up?

I would love to become a big super-model.

1. Models make long hours it’s wellknown, I hope she make it as a model. But I doubt it, her face is to similar to the face of 1 billion other young woman. Only her eyes can make the difference, further she is a girl like thousands of them in the States. Her dream is to become a BIG supermodel, I would say dream your little dream, but it will never happen. She may be pleased as she become a topmodel and even that is a hard task for her. I’m really sorry my dear Caroline West, but your not the next Christy Turlington, Linda E, or Cindy C. Nevertheless I wish you all the luck and best in the world. 3. Valerio, what exactly are you talking about? The thing with Caroline is that she looks so different from everyone else. I don’t know if it’s jealousy or hate, but you couldn’t be more wrong. Caroline is beautiful and she has all the tools needed to become a supermodel.
