Yea, Nay, Or Eh: Diane Kruger, One Of The Boys?

Menswear-inspired looks on the red carpet are no new phenomenon, but Diane Kruger took the trend perhaps a little too literally at the Inglourious Basterds premiere in Melbourne. A bow tie and suspenders? We prefer a more subtle take on the borrowed-from-the-boys look, like the satin ensemble the actress wore back in December. Lake Bell managed to pull off tuxedo-chic in Rag & Bone at the Met gala in May. Do you think Kruger’s Chanel getup here has the same edgy effect?

Sexy, but whe have seen this look so many times before…

As the model Diana Heidkruger she knews to dress herself better then the actress Diana Kruger. Arriverderci
i think kruger’s Chanel getup has the same edgy look, so what she put suspenders with a bow tie! she still rock the boy look!
Nay / what’s next? a silkscreened tuxedo T?
neither looks are flattering from head to toe nad she’s wearing the same shoes
neither are flattering from head to toe and those are the same shoes
Not a great look – she is trying a bit too hard to look stylish.
i think i’d like it minus the suspenders…or with a jacket.
I really like the makeup from the pic on the left, but prefer the outfit on the right.
never liked this look not now, then or ever.
Nay…its been done and although she has the body to pull it off she’s not making any statement.
The suspenders got to go! If she wants to do the boy look, she needs to at least change up the style. There are enough pieces this fashion season for Diane to have not given us this same old same old. Diane could have done the boy inspired look and still achieved the edgy effect she tried to go for by using pieces like the drop-crotch pant, shoulder pads, or using the corporate look that’s especially in style this season. Corporate offers many articles of clothing that are associated with masculinity: blazers, trousers, jackets, and blouses.
So that’s a definite NAY for me.
