You’ve Seen The Collections, Now Shop The Trends

August 4, 2009  9:53 am

Our Fall Shopping Guide went up yesterday, the result of weeks spent poring over lookbooks and clicking through countless runway shows. I love the moto vests in our Biker Brigade trend; I can see myself sporting the acid-washed denim William Rast version (at $420, it’s doable for a staple piece) with cuffed twill pants or a flirty little dress. I’m not exactly the type to do underwear-as-outerwear, as seen in the Boudoir Crossing trend, but I’m excited to try ADAM’s sheer chiffon menswear shirt ($245) with slouchy flannel trousers, and his charmeuse pajama pants ($295) against a chunky knit sweater. The Style.com dress code is more “creative” than “corporate,” but there’s several pieces from our Smart Investments category I’m planning to incorporate into my office style. Ann Taylor’s perfect embossed-croc pump pictured above (a steal at $175) will add polish to any outfit—even, yes, my new acid-washed William Rast jacket and twill pants.
