Blasblog: Shopping With Tabitha
September 16, 2009 4:17 pm
For Tabitha Simmons, the model turned stylist turned shoe designer, there was a nostalgic feel to her splashy debut on the second floor of Bergdorf Goodman on Tuesday. “When I was about 14, as a Saturday job I worked at a shoe shop,” she explained, adding that the price points have changed a little bit since then. But the experience paid off: She personally assisted customers throughout the evening, even offering to Scotchgard the suede booties. It should be noted, though, that she did have help in the form of her husband, the photographer Craig McDean, and from one Jefferson Hack. “He’s very particular with the shoes he likes me in,” said Hack’s lady friend, Anouck Lepère, explaining the magazine editor’s qualifications.
