Fashion’s Night Out, SoCal Update

September 9, 2009  5:46 pm

Angelenos are notorious for going to bed early, but on September 10—Fashion’s Night Out—there are more than a few reasons to stay up late.

3.1 Phillip Lim

631 N. Robertson Blvd., West Hollywood, (310)-358-1988.

The SoCal native is releasing five new designs based on pieces from his archive. These signature classics, which have been re-created in new fabrications and embellishments to suit the fall season, will be available in a limited size run from 6 to 11 p.m.

Fred Segal

8100 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood, (323) 651-4129.

The multi-store retail complex is hosting more than 35 special events from 7 to 11 p.m., including a denim-destroying workshop with Paige Gellar of Paige Premium Denim, photo ops with the Cobrasnake, and a pop-up candy shop from Rory Beca, who has created a limited-edition dress with a jersey top and silk voile cotton candy-print skirt.

Neiman Marcus

9700 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, (310) 550-5900.

Nathan’s hot dogs and Factors New York cheesecake will bring a bit of Manhattan to Beverly Hills, where from 6 to 9 p.m., there will be a jazz band, runway shows, special gifts with purchase, and a trend presentation with Vogue’s Lisa Love.

Rock & Republic

103 S. Robertson Blvd., L.A., (310) 285-0486.

From 6 to 11 p.m., the Robertson Boulevard boutique will feature giveaways and makeovers, along with special items like $178 limited-edition leggings with gunmetal studding for sale. CEO/creative director Michael Ball will be spinning the tunes.

TOMS Shoes and Trovata

3025 Olympic Blvd., C, Santa Monica, (310) 566.3170.

TOMS Shoes founder Blake Mycoskie and Trovata’s John Whitledge have teamed up for a Family Reunion party from 6 to 11 p.m. at TOMS’ Santa Monica headquarters. Groups of guests are being asked to dress up as an iconic family from decades past and the best “family” will win a $1,000 shopping spree from TOMS and Trovata. TOMS will sell its newest lace-up silhouette, the Cordones, while Trovata will have fall/winter items for sale.
