Nonoo Lyons Keeps It Above The Waist

Here’s a fun fact about design duo Misha Nonoo and Deborah Lyons: They’re about to be big in Beirut. Seems like the London expats are doing just fine over here as well, which they proved last night when they presented their second collection. Call it a capsule, if you will: 12 jackets, one for each month of the year, inspired by iconic fifties-era pinup girls and Coney Island. Miss October was a waist-length draped silk georgette in electric blue; Miss December, a sleek cropped version in rubber-coated tweed. Why just jackets? “We wanted the jacket to be the accessory, the final touch,” explained Lyons. As for Beirut, the Nonoo Lyons Fall collection will be delivering to Sophie’s Boutique, Lebanon’s answer to Intermix, any day now.
