Of Montreal: Mona Moore Lands In L.A.
September 8, 2009 11:34 am

Last Thursday night, Angelenos gathered in Venice for a pre-opening party to celebrate the U.S. debut of the avant-garde footwear salon Mona Moore. Known in Montreal and online (Cate Blanchett is a fan) as the place to score shoes right off the runway, the well-edited boutique features labels such as Ann Demeulemeester, Pierre Hardy, Dries Van Noten, Lanvin, and Marni. “It’s been a long time coming,” said co-owner Lisa Dashiell Bush, who hosted the party with her partner Anna Maria Varriano and Rose Apodaca, whose A+R shop sits across the street on Abbot Kinney. “We’re excited to see who our clients are when we open tomorrow.” As for hot sellers, from the reactions of partygoers like Tracee Ellis Ross and designer Raven Kaufmann, we’re betting on Phi’s $1,095 black leather booties.
