Yea, Nay, Or Eh: Dita’s Dolce Vita

The ever-impeccable Dita Von Teese is donating her fancy burlesque skills to tonight’s amfAR Inaugural Milan Fashion Week event at La Permanente. Though she’s certain to be wearing something saucy and easily removable later in the evening, the front-row favorite showed up in a hot pink satin Dolce & Gabbana dress from Fall 2009. The intense color is a lovely choice for Von Teese’s porcelain skin and black hair, but there’s something about the puffed shoulders and ample ruching that overwhelms the sublime stripper’s bodacious body. What do you think? How does tonight’s ensemble measure up to Von Teese’s usually spot-on looks?

I agree, I usually love Dita’s flawless looks but this look completely overwhelms her. I think the shoes are too pouffy too. Perhaps a simple black open-toed louboutin would have been better.

NAY! Dita’s a hit and misser style-wise. This is a miss. Bad length for what’s essentially an 80s party dress. Shorten the sleeves and the hemline and she may be onto something, but as is – UGH.

Dita looks like she died and went to Pepto Bismol Heaven. Ugh, what was this delecious designer thinking when this frock was being designed. And while I adore Dita – the look makes me nautious!

Im astounded. She is always (most of the time) good about going glam and doing it the right way. This….wow.

She looks ok… I think there is a problem with the skirt… it looks weird, maybe it should have been more fitten? I dont like the read lipstick with the color of the dress either

    Yea, with provision…

.. with the dress choice well into costume territory, the look seems to call for one more pointlessly loud thing – say, a blonde wig [think: blonde Carmen at the MET, or Vivienne].

the dress looks like something you’d pick from a vintage store for less than $5. It’s also making her look very cheap.

The dress is not made for a woman of her hight , in additon the lack of heels is in this outfit is but a reminder that even the best of us have bad days.
