Today in Milan, hundreds, maybe thousands, of Italians are remembering why America is the best country ever. Two words: Abercrombie; Fitch. [WWD]

Daily Candy joins the Gilt Groupe group with Swirl, its own members-only e-commerce site, set to launch next month. We’re going to shop our way out of this recession if it’s the last thing we do! [WWD]

Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2010 face is rumored to be Lara Stone, which means the Dutch treat is taking over the mantle from Madonna . It’s a monogrammed mantle, and it comes with tasseled clogs. [WWD]

Just in case you’ve been misled by supermarket tabloids, Mary-Kate Olsen and Nate Lowman are not engaged. Although it did sound like an awfully nice proposal. [People]

  1. What the HELL is going on, Abercrombie and Fitch, please Alison don’t make me laugh. The average people in Italy don’t even know these brands. And shopping our way out of this recession I only have to laugh about it. You have or don’t have money, it has nothing to do with whatever recession as you should know. May I ask you where you have your knowledge of that Lara Stone is the NEW face of Louis Vuitton? It seems to me very obvious, that a young and promising Duth model is taken over the role of an almost “old lady’ Which can better take care of all her adopted kids and her own ruined live, then to make a statement in the fasion industry. Arriverderci have a nice weekend
