Blasblog: Bruno Frisoni’s Street Fair

“I have been very lucky,” said Bruno Frisoni last night while hosting a party at his Rue de Grenelle shop. “For the past ten years I have been lucky, and even tonight I am lucky.” Certainly being in business for a decade is a sign of good fortune, as is a cool Paris evening with a lively but casual little cocktail party that spilled out the door, allowing New Yorkers like me the novelty of drinking on the street. It was so casual, in fact, that the caterers just opened up the backs of their vehicles, plopping canapés on the bed of a truck. Luck aside, another ingredient to Frisoni’s success: love. “I love what I do,” said the slim, bespectacled cobbler. “This is a demonstration of that love.” A sparkly-outfitted Katy Perry showed up in Louboutins (oops!) but pronounced herself a Frisoni fan. “He’s such a sweetheart,” she gushed. “I just want to cuddle him.”
