Calvin Klein Furniture Launches At ABC
Calvin Klein is extending its cool minimalism to furniture with a new project: the Curator Collection by Calvin Klein Home, to be sold at ABC Carpet & Home. It’s the first time that the Flatiron furniture mecca has teamed up with a major fashion house. The 3,750-square-foot Calvin Klein lifestyle shop, located on ABC’s second floor, debuted last night with a party hosted by Elle Decor‘s Margaret Russell. Keeping to Calvin’s clean and spartan style, the space is sweeping, with raw unfinished columns running up to super-high ceilings—a perfect foil to low-to-the-ground, highly polished platform beds. “Since they’re below eye level, they made a room look larger,” said furniture designer Michael Kirkpatrick, who works on the collection with Calvin Klein Home creative director Amy Mellen. The shop also stocks the brand’s existing tabletop, bedding, and rugs, which now, of course, exist in perfect harmony with the new conversation-pit sectionals, club chairs, and statement cocktail tables.
