Gaga Galaxy, Celebs Never Learn, And More…

October 16, 2009  2:04 pm

Beyoncé and Lady Gaga in a video?! As a wise woman once said, “I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly.” [Grazia Daily]

Happy Birthday, Mr. Lauren. We hope that when we turn 70 we’ll be celebrating it somewhere like the Boom Boom Room (sorry, but we’re just not calling it QT). [WWD]

OMG OTK. An impassioned argument as to why the thigh-high boot trend shouldn’t trickle down. [The Awl]

Christian Louboutin clarifies his thoughts on the ankles of his new muse, Barbie. [WWD]

The Kardashian sisters—Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney—are designing a collection for Bebe, making them the 12,693rd celebrity team to try their hand at fashion. Sigh. [People]

Manolo Blahnik certainly won’t be happy about it. “I hate celebrities. All those pointless girls. They are ‘famous.’ Ridiculous,” he tells British Vogue before showing them his new collection over tea and cakes. [British Vogue]

  1. I have wailed on my soap box for the last time about these celeb “designers.” All I’m going to say is that I wish it was that easy for those of us that accually have talent to get our lines off the ground.

  2. At last a comment of you my dear Alison in which you express that you are also a little sick and tired of all the celebs and their ’socalled’ designs. I said it already years ago, leave the designs of whatever piece of clothing to a real designer. Only the name of the celeb is important, no one looks at the design, is it well tailored etc etc. No some companies want to make big money with these socalled celeb designers. I personally find it disgusting and almost every one on this Blog and in the earlier days on the fashion forum knows how I think about celebs and designing. I’m very thankfull to you Alison that you said in your Blog - making them the 12.693rd celebrety team to try their hand at fashion- Actually the never will, designers like Mr. Lagerfeld or Galliano are there forever. Most of the celebs not, they don’t have the creativity for launching a superd collection. They even can’t design and have ghost designers on their payroll and maybe worser can’t nail a button on a womans/mans shirt.

  3. Although poorly written and not particularly agreed with, I find the argument against thigh high boots HILARIOUS!

“I don’t understand how healthy people with eyes and reflective surfaces who still menstruate regularly and swallow after chewing food don’t know this is a fucking practical joke run by the fashion industry, famous people, and anorexics who do this shit instead of crying and running in place.”

“Rihanna’s boots are too scared to look bad on Rihanna.”

    HAHAHA.

  4. Sorry Nic_chic, but were in her Blog Alison talked about High boots/heels etc?? You have a lot of critics on the industry in your ‘comment’ but do you really know what is going on in the fashion world. I have to disappoint you, you know nothing about it. Regarding your posting you’re just a jerk. Have a nice weekend, arrivederci
