Following up Beth Ditto’s extremely fleshy performance at Fendi’s Paris fashion week party last season is no easy feat, but Herr Karl has deemed 18-year-old British pop star Pixie Lott (that’s her at left) up to the task. Guided by voices (no, seriously, his psychic told him to do it), Isaac Mizrahi opens his first store, er, we mean shop. “I’m afraid to call it a store because that immediately makes you think about sales expectations,” Mizrahi explained. Interesting strategy… [WWD]
Lady Gaga’s first foray into fashion design: Heartbeats, a line of high-resolution headphones that look a little bit like ear candy. Will they work if you have your pants on? The question remains. [The Moment]
Up next for Tom Binns? Barbie shoes and a booklet, available at Colette during Couture. [Fashion Week Daily]
Asprey’s new landlord, Hermès, claims to be just that, but we’re a little skeptical. Hermès scooped up Asprey’s 20,000-square-foot global headquarters-slash-flagship
store on New Bond Street in London and called it “property investment.” We call it the first step toward luxury-accessory domination. [WWD]
